• It provides a structured pathway for organizing incoming and outgoing fiber ribbons or loose tubes. Features like guides, spools, and radius limiters ensure fibers are bent gently, always maintaining a bend radius greater than the minimum specification (typically >37.5mm) to prevent signal loss (attenuation) and fiber damage.
• The tray is designed with specific areas to coil and store the slack (excess length) of fiber that is essential for future maintenance, re-splicing, or testing operations. This prevents fibers from being tangled or damaged.
• The 48-fiber capacity is often achieved through a stackable or multi-layer design (e.g., 6 layers of 8 fibers). This modularity allows for high-density packing in a limited space while keeping individual fibers organized and easily identifiable.
• It is engineered to be easily mounted inside various outside plant (OSP) and indoor equipment, such as:
  • Fiber Distribution Hubs (FDHs) / Cabinets: Points for signal distribution in FTTx networks.
  • Optical Distribution Frames (ODFs): Central termination points in data centers and central offices.
